Java Lane and Super Sun defeated Police and Pelicans respetively in week 1 of the Champions League 2022.

Java Lane defeated Police 2-1 at the Sugathadasa Stadium. Java Lane led 1-0 at half time courtesy a goal from Naveen Jude. Tochokwu Francis doubled the lead for the men in red in the 86th minute before Damith Pathirana found a consolation goal in the 90+4th minute for Police.

Pelicans v Super Sun
Super Sun came from a goal down to beat Pelicans 2-1 at the Maligapitiya Grounds, in Kurunegala. Rajikumar Shanthan scored as early as in the 9th minute for Pelicans and five minutes late in the 14th minute Hasitha Priyankara equalized for Super Sun. With seven minutes remaining (83rd min) Priyankara found the winner for the lads from Beruwala.
