Sri Lanka Emerging Team registered a dominant win over West Indies Emerging Team in the second 4-day game to clinch the two-match series, 1-0 at Hambantota.
Having won the toss, the visitors elected to bat first but were restricted to 231 runs in their first innings. Middle-order batter Shaqkere Parris stood out with a fighting 99, narrowly missing out on a century.
For Sri Lanka, Chamod Battage led the bowling effort with impressive figures of 4 for 51, ensuring the hosts gained the upper hand early in the contest.
In reply, Sri Lanka piled on a massive 553 for 5 declared, taking complete control of the match. Pulindu Perera and Anjala Bandara were the chief architects of the imposing total with superb centuries.
Perera played a brilliant knock of 145 off 188 deliveries, striking 14 fours and a six, while Bandara continued his remarkable run of form with an unbeaten 105 off 139 balls, including 10 boundaries.
The century was particularly special for Bandara as it marked his third consecutive hundred of the series, underlining his consistency and dominance with the bat.
Trailing by 322 runs, West Indies Emerging Team needed a strong response in their second innings but suffered a dramatic collapse. The visitors were bundled out for just 106 runs, handing Sri Lanka an emphatic innings victory.
Asitha Wanninayake starred with the ball, producing a sensational spell of 4 for 5 in just 1.5 overs to dismantle the West Indian batting lineup.
