Nine matches of the SLC Major Clubs U23 Tournament were played today (06th March) at several venues across the island.
SSC managed to dominate their Group B encounter against Panadura SC, thanks to the individual brilliance of Tenushka Nanayakkara, Kalana Perera and Nimnaka Jayathilaka.
Nanayakkara stood out with the bat, scoring a century for SSC yesterday, which was well backed up by the brilliant bowling performances of Kalana Perera (5/26) and Nimnaka Jayathilaka (4/24), who restricted Panadura SC to just 84 runs, handing first innings points for SSC.

Ragama CC claimed first innings points against Negombo CC in their Group D encounter, which ended in a draw today at Katunayake. After posting a solid first innings total of 310, Ragama CC managed to bowl out the opposition for just 93 runs. Dellon Peiris and Eshan Malinga were the chief wreckers with the ball for Ragama CC as they shared 7 wickets between them.
After been asked to follow on, Negombo CC bettered their batting effort in the 2nd innings, posting 253. Ashan Fernando starred with the ball for Ragama CC, claiming a 5-wicket haul.
Chamath Wickramasinghe’s brilliant century helped Bloomfield C & AC take honours in the drawn encounter against Colts CC at Colts Grounds, Colombo.
After restricting the hosts to 227, Bloomfield C & AC replied with a strong batting effort, posting 398 for the first innings thanks to Wickramasinghe, who stroked 108 runs off 134 balls with 15 fours and a six.
