Unbeaten Wickramashila National School, Giriulla emerged as the champions of the Under 19 Girls Division Two Inter Schools Cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association sponsored by Sri Lanka Cricket on Saturday (23rd December).
Wickramashila National School beat Uhana National School by 12 runs in the final of the tournament played at Wickramashila National School Ground in Giriulla. 69 teams participated in the tournament from whole parts of the island.
Batting first, Wickramashila National School posted 178 runs for 4 wickets in 25 overs with Ashani Kaushalya top scoring with 66 runs. In reply, Uhana National School posted 166 runs for 7 wickets falling short of the target by 12 runs.
Thila Wattuhewa, President of Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and Principal of Royal College Colombo and Keerthi Gunarathne Tournament Secretary Girls participated in the awards ceremony.
