St. Joseph’s and Trinity to meet in U19 Tier A Final

St. Joseph’s College, Colombo will meet Trinity College, Kandy in the final of the Under 19 Inter-Schools Division 1 Tier ‘A’ Two-Day tournament on 8th and 9th April at ACE Capital CC Grounds, Colombo.

 

The tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association with sponsor Sri Lanka Cricket saw 18 teams participated in the first round into 3 groups according to league basis.

 

St. Joseph’s College advanced to the quarter final as runner up of their group in the first round. They advanced to the semi-final defeating Wesley College, Colombo in the quarter final. In the semi-final, St. Joseph’s College beat St. Benedict’s College, Kotahena to secure their place in the final.

 

Meanwhile, Trinity College, Kandy advanced to the quarter final as the champion of their group in the first round. They defeated Royal College, Colombo in the quarter final to advance to the semi-final. In the semi-final, Trinity College beat Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala to secure their place in the final.

 

Sri Lanka U19 cap Sadeesh Jayawardane will lead St. Joseph’s College, Colombo while Sri Lanka U19 skipper Shevon Daniel set to feature in St. Joseph’s College in the final. Rahal Amarasinghe will lead Trinity College, Kandy in the final.
