Four matches of the SLC Major Club 50 Over Tournament 2026 were completed today (22nd August), with Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC), Bloomfield Cricket & Athletic Club, Police Sports Club and Moors Sports Club securing victories in their respective encounters.
The day belonged Nuwanidu Fernando and Sadeera Samarawickrama who produced magnificent centuries to guide SSC and Moors SC to impressive wins.

Fernando was the standout performer for SSC, smashing a brilliant 120 off 107 deliveries. His commanding innings featured 10 fours and 3 sixes as he played a pivotal role in SSC’s successful outing.
Samarawickrama delivered an equally impressive performance for Moors SC, producing a superb 125 off 111 balls. The right-hander struck 14 boundaries and one six in a dominant display that helped Moors SC secure victory.

The clash between Police SC and Badureliya SC went down to the wire in a low-scoring encounter, with Police SC emerging victorious after their bowlers produced an outstanding performance.
Kithma Withanapathirana led the attack with an excellent spell of 4 for 26, while Dushan Hemantha complemented him with 3 for 20 as Police SC successfully defended their total to claim a thrilling win.

Meanwhile, Bloomfield C & AC enjoyed a comfortable victory over BRC, with left-arm seamer Dulaj Samuditha playing a key role with the ball. Samuditha claimed a four-wicket haul to spearhead Bloomfield’s bowling effort and set up a convincing win.
