Six more matches of the SLC Major Club T20 Tournament 2026 were worked off today (20th August) at several venues across the island, with Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC), Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC), Panadura Sports Club, Colombo Cricket Club (CCC), Tamil Union Cricket & Athletic Club and Police Sports Club registering victories in their respective encounters.
The highlight of the day came from NCC opener Kamil Mishara, who produced a sensational record-breaking knock against Bloomfield C & AC.
Mishara smashed 145 runs off just 72 deliveries, striking 11 fours and 11 sixes at an astonishing strike rate of 201.39. His remarkable innings goes into the record books as the highest individual score in a T20 match in Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, Panadura SC were powered to a comfortable victory over Colts CC by blistering half-centuries from Dilshan Munaweera and Shalith Fernando.
Munaweera struck 64 runs off 42 balls, including seven fours and three sixes, while Fernando matched the score with 64 off 40 deliveries, hitting three fours and four sixes.
Police SC also secured their second victory of the tournament, with Tillakaratne Sampath and Bhanuka Rajapaksa producing explosive half-centuries.
Sampath smashed 77 runs off 45 balls with five fours and seven sixes, while Rajapaksa added 69 off just 33 deliveries, clearing the ropes six times alongside four fours.
Janishka Perera for Moors SC and Lakvin Abeysinghe for Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club were among the other notable batting performers of the day, with both producing impressive half-centuries for their respective sides.
There were also several notable bowling performances across the six matches.
Charuka Pramod claimed a four-wicket haul for Police SC despite an expensive spell, while Chamika Gunasekara (NCC), Malinda Pushpakumara (Badureliya SC), Dunith Wellalage (SSC), Inuka Karannagoda (CCC), Santhush Gunatilake (Moors SC) and Shiran Fernando (Moors SC) picked up three-wicket hauls in their respective encounters.
