Day two of the SLC Major Club 50 Over Tournament 2026 was worked off today (14th August), with six matches taking place at venues across the island.
The Group A encounter between Panadura Sports Club and Moors Sports Club was abandoned due to rain, while Colombo Cricket Club, Ace Capital Cricket Club, Police Sports Club, Colts Cricket Club and Nondescripts Cricket Club registered victories in the other five completed matches.

The highlight of the day came at the Bloomfield Grounds, where Bloomfield C & AC batter Ravindu Fernando produced a spectacular batting display against NCC.
Fernando smashed a blistering 140 off just 93 deliveries, striking 14 fours and 8 sixes. Despite his outstanding century, Bloomfield C & AC ended up on the losing side as NCC chased down the target.
Ahan Wickramasinghe was the star for NCC, responding with a brilliant century of his own. The right-hander struck 108 runs off 82 balls, including 7 fours and 6 sixes, to guide NCC to victory in their Group B encounter.

With the ball, NCC’s Chamika Karunaratne produced one of the standout spells of the day, claiming 5 wickets for 39 runs against Bloomfield C & AC.
Colts Cricket Club’s Muditha Lakshan also impressed with the ball, picking up a five-wicket haul against Badureliya Sports Club. Lakshan finished with figures of 5 for 21 to play a key role in Colts CC’s victory.
