Colombo FC and New Youngs FC registered thumping wins defeating Blue Star SC and Java Lane SC respectively in week 10 of the Dialog Champions League 2017.

Colombo FC v Blue Star SC

Colombo FC burst into their imperious form in the 2nd half to dismantle Blue Star 5-0 at the CR&FC Grounds.

Both sides traded chances in a balanced first half but poor finishing and good defending denied them of goals. It took only three minutes into the 2nd half for Colombo FC to get on the score sheet through Momas Yapo.

Youngster, Mohamed Ijas then gifted Colombo FC an own goal as the defending champions looked to coast towards a win. Zarwan Johar made it 3-0 in the 82nd minute and Yapo added his 2nd in the 87th. Zarwan completed his 2nd goal and the rout deep into injury time.

New Youngs FC v Java Lane SC

New Youngs FC made up for their last week’s disappointing 5-1 loss to table topping Renown SC, with a dominant 4-0 win against struggling Java Lane SC at the Albert F.Peiris Stadium, Wennappuwa.

Ifeanyi Chimezie opened the scoring for New Youngs in the 16th minute and Antony Arinze made it 2-0 in the 29th minute as the hosts had a comfortable lead going into half time.

Crystal Palace rally past Saunders

Crystal Palace FC swung into a 3-1 victory against Saunders SC…

Hasitha Priyankara shut the door on any sort of comeback from the visitors with the 3rd near the hour mark and Chimezie scored his 2nd four minutes from time.

Police SC v Negombo Youth

In a bottom of the table clash Police SC secured their first win defeating Negombo Youth 3-0 at the Police Park.

Former Sri Lanka vice-captain and midfielder, Chathura Gunarathna was the architect of the Police win with him, Mohamed Nawshad and Mohamed Rafeek scoring for the hosts.
