The lads from Anuradhapura came in search of an easy and took an early lead when in-form forward Kazdeem Ojo scored the first. Air Force SC v Matara City
Home town boy Kavindu Ishan came to haunt Matara City as his 2nd half goal gave title chasing Air Force SC another valuable three points in a tempers-boiling clash at the City Football Complex.
Undefeated Air Force who are in the top three needed a win against Matara City to keep in touch with Colombo FC and Renown SC while the visitors were on a high after defeating another strong opponent in Navy SC 4-3 at Welisara.
Much will be talked about the discipline and refereeing when the match almost looked like it would end up in a fight. However, it was Kavindu Ishan as he has done on numerous occasions for the Airmen who came to the rescue with a goal in the 50th minute which earned them the win.
