CameraLK, known not just locally but internationally as South Asia’s Largest Camera retail store, is all set to embark on a brand new journey, this time in Sri Lanka’s most popular sport, Cricket. CameraLK, mainly popular for sponsoring various Sri Lankan cricketers like Kusal Mendis, Pathum Nissanka, and Avishka Fernando, will step into the field of cricket to test out their talent with the bat and ball as they will compete in the F Division of the Mercantile Cricket Association for the first time in 2024.

Led by their Talismanic Founder/Managing Director Anushka Gunasinghe, they began the journey of competing with the hardball last June and in a short span of time, with the guidance of their coach Vimukthi Deshapriya who is a member of the SSC coaching staff and the LPL franchise Jaffna Kings, have managed to make giant strides in all the three departments.

So far, they have competed in 12 matches and have managed to walk out with the win in 6. A 50% win record proves how much they have improved in just 6 months, as out of their squad of 19, only 3 had previous experience playing hardball cricket.

So far, their explosive opening wicketkeeper-batsman Theekshana Maduwantha has scored the most runs, which includes 2 half tons, while Nirosh Srimal, the deputy skipper of the side, has taken the most wickets with his nippy right-arm pace bowling.

With a solid mixture of batters, bowlers and all-rounders that possess a lot of variety, it will be interesting to see how this new venture pans out for the renowned brand.
