Thurstan College, Colombo and Lumbini College, Colombo we’re declared joint champions of the U19 Division 1 Tier B Inter-Schools Limited Overs Tournament 2023/24.
Thurstan College Skipper Vihas Thewmika won the toss and asked Lumbini College to bat first. Lumbini College had a terrible start to their innings as they lost 6 wickets for 31 runs.

However, Dinitha Prabanka and Dumindu Sewmina managed to rescue the innings, adding a 98-run partnership for the 7th wicket as Lumbini College posted 178 runs for 9 wickets on the board.
Prabanka got Lumbini innings out of jail with a brilliant knock – 85 runs off 143 balls with 5 fours – while Sewmina and Pasindu Mahisha chipped in with useful 20s down the order.
Thanuga Palihawadana was the pick of the bowlers for Thurstan College as he grabbed 3 scalps for 51 runs, while Vishwa Dhananjaya and Yovun Silpa picked up 2 wickets each.

In reply, Thurstan College were able to bat only 11 overs as rain stopped play at Maggona. The rain washed out the rest of the play. Therefore, the match officials declared both teams as joint champions.
