Club Cricket Summary – Chathuranga De Silva smash 107; Tamil Union bowled out for 198

The left-handed all-rounder, Chathuranga De Silva stroked a superb 107 for Moors SC against NCC in their SLC Premier League Tournament 2014/15 – Super Eight stage match which commenced on Thursday.

In another key game, SL Ports Authority bowled out the strong Tamil Union batting lineup for a paltry 198 as another round of domestic cricket in Sri Lanka got underway. 

 

Moors vs NCC

Moors after being put into bat lost wickets at regular intervals but Chathuranga’s century and Kosala Kulasekara’s half century helped Moors reach 279 for 9 at stumps on day one against NCC at R. Premadasa Stadium. 

Moors – 279/9 in 87 overs: Chathuranga de Silva 107, Kosala Kulasekara 53, Chaminda Vidanapathirana 4/54, Sohan Boralessa 2/68.

 

SL Ports Authority vs Tamil Union

Left-arm spinner Shanuka Dissanayake picked up 4 scalps as SL Ports Authority shut down the Tamil Union for 198 and replied with 84 for 2 at stumps on day one at Colts grounds. 

Tamil Union – 198 all out in 68.5 overs: Dinuk Wickramanayake 35, Hashen Ramanayake 33, Ramith Rambukkwella 29, Shanuka Dissanayake 4/29, Malinda Pushpakumara 2/29.

SL Ports Authority – 84/2 in 19 overs: Ashan Priyanjan 38*, Mahela Udawatte 20*. 

 

SL Army vs Badureliya

Asela Gunarathne (85*) and Shalika Karunanayake (80*) once again proved too strong for bowlers as the Soldiers amassed 318 for 3 wickets at the end of day one against Badureliya CC at NCC grounds. 

SL Army – 318/3 in 90 overs: Shalika Karunanayake 80*, Asela Gunaratne 85*,Lakshitha Madushan 46, Dilan Zoysa 45.

 

CCC vs Bloomfield 

Vishwa Fernando and Suraj Randiv took 3 wickets apiece as Bloomfield restricted CCC for only 235 at P. Sara Oval grounds. None of the CCC batsmen crossed the 50-run mark.
