ThePapare Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer 2022, to identify the most popular schoolboy cricketer in the island, organised by Sri Lanka’s No. 1 Sports Hub, ThePapare.com which kicked off for the 2nd consecutive on the 22nd of August 2022 officially began its 2nd round today (02) at 9.00AM.

36 schoolboy heroes who received the highest number of web votes in the initial round advanced through to the 2nd phase also known as the SMS round. The SMS round which began today at 9.00AM will end on the 16th of September at 5.59PM.

Hiruna Mandila of Mahinda College, Galle who bagged 9584 votes had the most number of votes from phase 1. Tharindu Harshana of Thurstan College & Kevin Samuel of Isipathana College were in 2nd & 3rd place at the end of phase 1.

The first edition of ThePapare most popular schoolboy cricketer of the year which concluded successfully last year saw the 36 stars who were a part of phase 2 receiving a mammoth 2,174,779 votes in total. The eventual winner of the first edition, Sri Lanka U19 & Royal College Allrounder Sadisha Rajapaksa bagged 1,034,559 SMS votes.

Thrimalsha Silva, the allrounder of St. Anne’s College Kurunegala grabbed the runner up trophy of the first edition with 631,804 votes while Isipathana College opening batter Thevindu Dickwella ended up taking the 3rd place with 275,343 votes.

Rules & Regulations

108 Youth cricketers from 36 schools were chosen for round 1, where voting took place only on www,thepapare,com website.

The First round took place from the 22nd of August to 31st of August.

The 36 players with the most number of votes at the end of round 1 have advanced to Round 2 – the SMS Round.

The Youth Cricketer with the most number of SMS votes when the 2nd round ends will be crowned as ThePapare Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer 2022
