Twelve matches of the Major Club Emerging 3 Day Tournament 2022 commenced today (25th February) at several venues across the island.
Johanne De Zilva stroked a brilliant century (144), guiding NCC to a commanding position against Kurunegala YCC on day one. Meanwhile, Movin Subasinghe (133*) impressed with the bat, scoring a century for Air Force SC in their encounter against SSC.

Abishek Liyanarachchi (99), Nimesha Gunasinghe (97*) and Avishka Tharindu (93*) also lit up the day with excellent knocks for their respective clubs.
Apart from the batters, some impressive performances were recorded from the bowlers as well. Kaumal Nanayakkara of Army SC (6/16), Naveen Fernando of Nugegoda S & WC (6/41), Maduranga Naveen of Kurunegala YCC (6/101) and Adeesha Thilanchana of Moors SC (5/06) had great outings with the ball for their respective clubs.
