The second day (18) of the U19 Super Provincial Tournament saw one washout at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium and Team Colombo taking on Team Kandy at the Dambulla Ineternational Cricket Stadium.

Team Colombo vs Team Kandy
Team Kandy was handed a crushing defeat by 95 runs at the hands of Team Colombo today at Dambulla ICS after the latter posted a threatening 269 thanks to a herculean effort by Kamil Mishara from Royal College.
After winning the toss, Colombo Team skipper Mishara decided to bat first and bat, he did. While none of the other team members failed to go past 30, Mishara launched an exceptional innings contributing 56% of the total to take Team Colombo to 269.

He fought hard for his marathon innings and made 89 of his 152 runs without any boundaries. Mishara was reprieved by Team Kandy fielders dropping 2 catches in the latter part of his innings.
Opener’s innings was coloured with 15 fours and 3 huge sixes.
Left arm spinner from Tissa Madya Maha Vidyalaya, Kalutara Rohan Sanjaya picked 4 wickets to restrict the opposition.

In reply, Team Kandy didn’t look like they were going to chase the target as no one constructed a big score nor a big partnership was created. There were notable performances by Team Kandy’s middle order in patches, but it wasn’t enough to make a different.
Chamindu Wijesinghe and Praveen de Silva shared 3 wickets a-piece while Sonal Dinusha dismissed 2 Kandy hitters.
This is Team Colombo’s 2nd consecutive victory by a bonus point and that would mean they cruise through to the finals on 23rd July.

Match which was scheduled to be held at the Pallekele Internantional Cricket Stadium was abandoned today due to persistent rain and will commence tomorrow (19) at Dambulla ICS at 9.45am.
The schedule was revised for the U19 Super Provincial Tournament after today’s washout.

All the matches will be held at Rangiri Dambulu International Cricket stadium.
