Royal College, Colombo and Ananda College, Colombo recorded massive wins in today’s (17) U19 Inter School Cricket matches played around the Island.

The Royalists wrecked D. S. Senanayake College, Colombo at Reid Avenue as they registered a 10-wicket win in the Tier ‘A’ tournament fixture between the schools.

After undoing the D. S. batters for 137 runs, the Royalists made a mammoth total of 327 runs, courtesy of Rehan Peiris’ 150 runs, as well as healthy support from the all-rounder Ramiru Perera and the Skipper Dasis Manchanayake. Peiris remained unbeaten on his century and a half, while Perera and Manchanayake shone with fruitful knocks on 84 and 63 runs.

When D. S. came out to save the game in their second innings, Perera sprung into action once again as he accounted for a cluster of D. S. wickets. He saw off 7 of the D. S. Senanayake batters at the expense of 50 runs bowling 17 overs.

His scintillating spell left D. S. Senanayake College with just a 22-run lead, which the Royalists had no trouble chasing down.
