U19 Schools Cricket Tournament 2022/23

The 4th Quarter-final of the U19 Division I Tier ‘A’ Inter-Schools Cricket Tournament commenced today between St. Benedict’s College & Richmond College, at SLAOC International Cricket Stadium in Dombagoda.

After having won the toss, St. Benedict’s College decided to bat first but were unable to have a good start, losing wickets at regular intervals.

Sharujan Shanmuganathan was one of their key batters who scored a valuable 70 runs, while Skipper Chamath Chathurya scored 38 runs, and they were bowled out for 175 runs. In the bowling department, Tharinda Nirmal was the pick of the bowlers with 4/5, and Sharon Abhishek bagged 3/42 as well.

However, due to rain interruption from rain, they were not able to commence Richmond College’s first innings. Accordingly, only 73 overs could be bowled today.
