St. Servatius’ College, Matara has successfully booked their place in the Finals of the U19 Division 1 – Tier B competition 2022/23 and also secured a promotion to the Division 1 – Tier A next season after competing against Mahinda College, Galle in the 2nd Semi-Final which held today at Surray Village Grounds, Maggona.
This morning, St. Servatius’ added another 39 runs to their overnight score and decided to declare on 350/9. As their chief scorer, Vishwa Supun stroked a brilliant unbeaten hundred while Kushan Wijerama fell after scoring a crucial 86.

In reply, Mahinda College were able to post 295/8 with the opener, Pramesh Madhubhashana scored a fine century. Hiruna Gallage made 47 while Hareen Achintha, Ranmina Hettiarachchi and Senuka Dangamuwa have fallen in 30’s and the match ended in a draw.
However, with the advantage of the 1st round, St. Servatius’ College were able to progress to the finals and they will be feature in Division 1 – Tier ‘A’ for the upcoming 2023/24 season.
