Another couple of traditional matches of the U19 Schools Cricket Tournament were played today (29th March) in Kandy & Moratuwa.
A traditional encounter between St. Anthony’s College and St. Peter’s College ended today in a draw.
This morning, Peterites bowled out for 149 for their first innings with Thisara Ekanayake and Kaveesha Piyumal bagging 03 wickets apiece.
Due to that show, St. Peter’s College had to follow on with 203 runs behind. However, when the match ended in a draw, St. Anthony’s victory was missed by one wicket as Peterites were on 131/9. Thisara Ekanayake was brilliant with the ball as he took 7/80 and finished with a match bag of 10 wickets.

Maliyadeva College played against St. Sebastian’s College in another traditional game which commence today at St. Sebastian’s College Grounds, Matara.
After having to bat first, Maliyadeva College managed to post 265 for their first innings with Pasindu Menaka, Jayamin Muthukumarana and Chamathkar Hettiarachchi scoring half-centuries. With the ball, Manuja Chanthuka bowled superbly to pick 6/72.
When the umpires called for stumps on day 1, St. Sebastian’s were in a comfortable position with 137 runs after losing 3 wickets. Vimath Dinsara remained not out on 65 while Sanesh Hettiarachchi scored a fifty as well.
