A team of 12 athletes are all set to compete at the 61st National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championship in Chennai which is scheduled to be held from the 10th to 14th of June 2022.
Sri Lanka Athletics Association has given the chance to two relay teams and two athletes for individual events to get international exposure by competing at these games.
Sri Lanka 110 m champion Roshan Dhammika and triple jumper Chamal Kumarasiri who set up new meet records at the senior national athletics championship recently will take part in the championship.
The 4×400 m men’s relay team will feature Aruna Dharshana, Isuru Lakshan, Pabasara Niku, Dinuka Deshan & R.M. Rajakaruna whilst the 4x400m women’s relay team will feature the present SL fastest athlete in 100m [women] Amasha De silva, Rumeshika Rathnayake, Selinda Jansen, Medhani Jayamanne & Lakshika Sugandhi.
The team of 12 athletes will leave SL on the 9th of June 2022 to bring pride and joy to their motherland.
