The twelve 9th week matches of the SLC Major League Tournament 2022 scheduled to begin today (14th October) saw the opening day getting washed out due to persistent rains across the island.
Apart from the Group A game between Kurunegala Youth CC and Colts CC at the Welagedara Stadium in Kurunegala, none of the other eleven games were able to even have the toss.

In Kurunegala, the opening day had to be called off after a long wait after the visiting team won the toss and elected to bowl first.
All 12 games will resume tomorrow (15th October) for the second day’s play if the rain eases up.
