Eight more matches of the SLC Major Club T20 Tournament 2020/21 were worked off today at Colombo and Katunayake. National capped Dilshan Munaweera made the headlines today with a brutal knock of 74 runs off 44 balls against Nugegoda S&WC.
One of the main highlights of the day was the tied match between Kurunegala YCC and Police SC. The lads from Kurunegala posted 155 runs for 3 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Gayan Maneeshan top-scored with an unbeaten 85 runs off 64 balls with 3 fours and 5 sixes.

In reply, the cops scored the same number of runs, losing 8 wickets. Wicket keeper batsman Maduranga Zoysa made 62 runs off 43 balls with 4 fours and a six. Negombo CC, Moors SC and Ragama CC registered comprehensive victories in their respective encounters.
National capped Dilshan Munaweera stole the limelight after a while, top-scoring 74 runs off 44 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes for Negombo CC. Lahiru Milantha gave him good support at the other end, scoring an unbeaten 66 runs off 49 balls with 7 fours.

The star of the Moors’ win was veteran leg spinner Jeewan Mendis, who ripped through the batting lineup of Kalutara Town Club, picking up 5 scalps for 21 runs. Nishan Madushka (58) and left-arm seamer Binura Fernando (3/22) were instrumental in guiding Ragama CC to a 6-wicket win over Saracens SC.
The Lankan CC batsman Harsha Cooray scored his third half-century of the tournament today against Bloomfield Cricket Club. With that knock, he has been able to score 3 fifties in 5 innings, bringing his tally of runs to 199, with an average of 66.33.
