Five (05) teams participated in the ongoing 4th National Development Bank sponsored – MCA “C” division 50 Over League Tournament 2024.

The Tournament is conducted with the white Ball, players attired in white clothing and according to the ICC ODI rules and playing conditions.

The teams vying for the glittering “NDB” Trophy are: David Pieris Group of Companies “A”, Nawaloka Hospitals PLC, Commercial Bank PLC “A”, LOLC Holdings & MAS Unichela.

The league stage of the Tournament played on a single group round robin, consisting 13 matches including the final which got under way on 17th July, will conclude on 28th September with the final.

The venues: MCA, Army Mattegoda, Army Panagoda, Bloomfield, Colts & Pujitha Uduwana Millaniya ((PUSA).

At the completion of the round robin stage, the four (04) top teams in the leader board namely unbeaten Nawaloka Hospitals PLC (League no 1), unbeaten LOLC Holdings (League no 2), MAS Unichela (League no 3) And David Pieris Group of Companies “A” (League no 4) advanced to the Semi Finals as follows:

1st Semi Final on 07th September: LOLC Holdings vs. MAS Unichela at Army Grounds Panagoda: 2nd Semi Final Nawaloka Hospitals vs. David Pieris Group of Companies “A” (Venue and date to be notified)

In the previous tournament, where 07 teams in a single group league participated, DFCC Bank took charge of the “NDB Trophy” with a comfortable 07 wickets win over Nawaloka Hospitals PLC, in the Final on 12th August 2023 at the MCA Grounds.

the Sponsorship Cheque Presentation Ceremony together with the Media Conference was held on Wednesday, 11th September 2024 at the MCA Legends Wing 6.30 pm.

Present at the above occasion, representing the sponsor were, Vice President Treasury, Niran Mahawatte, (Chief Guest) and Assistant Vice President Marketing, Dharshana Jayasinghe (Guest of Honour) and the representing the MCA were President, Mahesh De Alwis, Vice President and Chairman of the Cricket Development  Committee and Cricket Academy, Sirosha Gunatilake and General Secretary Rohan Somawansa.
