Team Owner of Dambulla Thunders arrested for match-fixing charges

Tamim Rahman, a British citizen of Bangladesh origin who is a team owner of Dambulla Thunders franchise in Lanka Premier League 2024 has been arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport.  

The special investigation unit for the prevention of offenses relating to sports at the Sports Ministry has arrested him for the allegations of match-fixing.  

After producing him before a magistrate court, he has been remanded till 31st May. However, it’s not yet clear whether the allegations are related to LPL or any other tournament.
