SSC vs Colts

Colts were precariously placed at 85/5 on day two after securing first innings points and had to bat out a significant part of day three to make sure they batted to safety.

Wickets fell around former Sri Lanka A player Priyamal Perera but he batted out of his skin to make sure Colts went ahead by 270 runs. He was the last wicket to fall in Colts’ second innings when he was trapped in front for a superb 87 which included seven boundaries, by Sachithra Senanayake.

Senanayake captured 4 wickets for SSC while Akthab Cader and Akash Senaratne picked up three apiece. Kaveesha Anjula made a useful 27* not out low down the order for Colts.

SSC decided to play out for a draw and ended the day on 100/2 when umpires decided to call off play with Test opener Dimuth Karunaratne unbeaten on a half century.

Chilaw Marians vs Badureliya

Oshada Fernando raced to his second century of the tournament early on day three as Chilaw Marians declared their second innings on 267/3 setting Badureliya an improbable 477 to win the match outright.

Badureliya struggled against the right arm off-spin of Sachithra Serasinghe and the pace of Asitha Fernando as their top order was back in the hut in no time.

Pathum Nissanka fought hard with a half century to deny the inevitable before Malinda Pushpakumara cleaned up the tail to end with eight wickets in the match as Chilaw recorded a crushing 320 run win.

Sachithra Serasinghe capped off a brilliant all-round performance in the match with a century and half century to go along with his second innings wickets.
