Western Province South vs Eastern Province
Group B fixture between Eastern Province and Western Province South was worked off today at NCC Ground in Colombo. Western Province South skipper won the toss and put the opposition into bat first. Lads from Eastern Province showed poor batting performance as they were bundled out for just 121 runs in 49.2 overs.

Western Province South bowlers displayed an excellent collective bowling effort as Nuwanidu Ferndando, Thashik Perera and Rohan Sanjaya picked up 2 wickets each to dismiss the opposition to a low score. It was an easy target for Western Province South as they chased down it within 30.5 overs with 6 wickets remaining.

Sri Lanka U19 cap, Nishan Madushka who scored a century in the last match against Uva Province, stroked unbeaten 58 runs and led his side to a convincing victory. With this win, Western Province South continues their winning streak with 2 wins out of 2 games.

Uva Province vs Southern Province
Group B fixture between Uva Province and Southern Province concluded today at Chilaw Marians CC Ground in Katunayake. The match was played as a 36-over encounter due to the prevailing weather conditions. Southern Province skipper won the toss and had no hesitation to bowl first to take the full use of overcast conditions.

Uva Province managed to post 165 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 36 overs. Thishan Kalindu top scored for Uva Province with unbeaten 67 runs. Sri Lanka U19 cap, Nipun Malinga and Dilshan Madushanka picked up 2 wickets each for Southern Province.

After being given a target of 166 runs to chase, Southern Province top order batsmen went berserk as they reached the target within 22 overs and 7 wickets to spare. Navod Paranavithana, a product of Mahinda College slammed a rapid knock of 82 runs to guide Southern Province to victory.
With this convincing victory, defending champions Southern Province began their campaign in the provincial tournament in style.
