Five matches were worked off on Saturday but only two matches produced results due to heavy rains on second match day in the AIA Premier Limited Overs Tournament 2015/16.
Sinhalese Sports Club and newly-promoted Galle Cricket Club clinched victories over Army Sports Club and Chilaw Marians Cricket Club.
SSC vs Army
Kaushal Silva (106) and Danushka Gunathilaka (94) secured a mammoth 158-run victory (D/L method) for SSC against Army at Panagoda.
Sri Lanka Test discard Silva stroked a beautiful 106 in 126 balls with 10 fours and a six while skipper Gunathilaka consumed 99 balls for his 94. They were involved in a 183-run stand for the first-wicket as the visitors made 327 for 6 in their 50 overs. The Soldiers in their reply were 83 for 6 in 26 overs when rain intervened play.

Galle vs Chilaw Marians
An important 71-run stand between Chamara Silva and Harsha Vithana ensured a close 5-run win (D/L method) for newly-promoted Galle Cricket Club against Chilaw Marians at Galle International Cricket Stadium.
Left-handed Thikshila De Silva top-scored with 54 for the visitors as they made only 199 all out. Former Sri Lanka fast-bowler Charitha Buddhika claimed 3 scalps. Chasing 200 runs to win, Galle were 151 for 6 when rain intervened play. Harsha remained unbeaten on 43 while Chamara made 33.
Chilaw Marians – 199 all out in 49.1 overs: Thikshila De Silva 54, Saliya Saman 37, Kasun Vidura 25, Charitha Buddhika 3/40, Suraj Randiv 2/23, Madura Lakmal 2/44.

Colts vs NCC
Priyamal Perera’s fighting half-century and Farveez Maharoof’s five-wicket haul were the key highlights in the Colts-NCC game which ended without a result at Colts grounds.
Only 41.3 overs were possible when heavy rains brought a premature end to the matc at around 12.45pm. After being 38 for 5, Colts recovered courtesy former Josephian Priyamal Perera’s gritty 52 off 90 deliveries. NCC skipper Maharoof took 5 for 23.

Bloomfield vs Badureliya
Only one-innings was possible in the match which was stopped due to rain at around 1.30pm at Bloomfield grounds.
Left-handed Primosh Perera and former Wesley skipper Sachin Jayawardene stroked half-centuries for the hosts’ while rising fast-bowler Kasun Rajitha took 3 scalps for the visitors.

Only one team got the chance to bat in the match which was stopped due to heavy showers at around 1.30pm at P. Sara Oval grounds.
Skipper Harsha Cooray and former Sri Lanka under 19 cap Umesh Karunarathne made 92 and 96* respectively for the visitors. They were also involved in a mammoth 187-run stand for the 3rd wicket.
