Eight 2-day encounters in the U19 Schools Cricket Tournament were held today (25th February) at several venues.

An U19 traditional match between Dharmapala College & Nalanda College ended today in Pannipitiya, with Nalanda registering a big win.
After deciding to bat first, Dharmapala College lost their first 7 wickets for a brief 48 runs. However, Kavindu Primal’s fighting knock of run-a-ball 67 took them to 144.

Nalanda College posted 338 for their 1st innings with Eranga Jayakodi, scoring an unbeaten ton, while Rusiru Vilochana & Sadew Samarasinghe scored half-centuries.
The Dharmapala batters showed yet another poor performance to be bowled out for 111 in the 2nd innings, and helped Nalanda to register an innings victory courtesy of Minod Caldera’s fifer.
