After being 354/7 at stumps on day three, Jaffna lost the remaining 3 wickets cheaply in the morning session as they were bowled out for 379 runs for their first innings.

Dambulla began their second innings 96 runs behind and posted 256/9 before declaring the innings setting a 161-run target for Jaffna. The experienced campaigner Ashan Priyanjan top-scored with a knock of 62 runs while Minod Bhanuka and Leo Fransisco chipped in with useful knocks of 48 & 46 respectively.
Chasing 161 runs to win, Jaffna managed to post 61 runs for 2 wickets before umpires called stumps on the final day.
