Singing Fish SC and Ratnam SC are leading group A & B respectively with one game week left in the group stage of the 2016 Premier League Division II Championship.
Group A
Singing Fish from Jaffna are top of group A with 4 points with one win and a draw. They demolished Kinniya’s Pioneer SC 4-0 while managing a 2-2 draw against Geli Oya SC.
Middle X SC who is in 2nd place also has four points with a 2-2 draw against Geli Oya SC and a 3-2 win against Pioneer SC.
With one game week left, Geli Oya SC, who came into the group stage full of confidence, are desperate to win against Pioneer SC and hope the other result would go their way to get into the semi-finals.

Group B
One time giants of Sri Lanka football, Ratnam SC now find themselves on top of group B in their quest to gain promotion to Division I.
Ratnam were demoted from the Champions League to Division II after going bankrupt in 2014. However after streaming through the knockout stage and winning two in the group stage they have secured a semi-final spot in the Division II.
Ratnam defeated Eleven Star SC from Negombo 3-1 and after a scrappy match edged out Ratmalana United 2-1. It was Ratnam who scored first through S. Maduranga in the 6th minute and even though Rathmalana United’s A.M.C.Ekanayake was sent off on the hour mark they could only score one more in the 70th minute through D.Jayasekara. With 4 minutes left A.M.G.Ekanayake scored for Ratmalana to make it 2-1.
Great Star SC has played only one game and are in 2nd place after winning that match against Eleven Star SC.
