Zahira Fellowship Day concludes in style

Zahira College Colombo OBA Inter-Groups fellowship day concluded in grand style on 01/07/2018 at the Zahira College Grounds in Maradana. The action and entertainment filled day started with the opening ceremony and the participation of a huge crowd from various groups, batches and associations from the 1970’s to 2010’s.

A total of nine games under three segments namely Youth, Masters and Grand Masters were held throughout the day and the batches of 2009, 2002 and group of 80’s emerged as Champions in the Youth, Masters and Grand Masters categories respectively. The spirited batch of 2002 displayed fascinating performances in all games they took part in, which helped them emerge as “Overall Champions of 2018” while placing the previous year’s overall champs, batch of 2009, came in second place. In addition, a hockey exhibition match was held between two old boys’ groups and the presentation ceremony was held at the College Pool Complex with the participation of distinguished guests and executive committee members of the OBA.

The event was organized by Zahira College Colombo Old Boys’ Association and the main objective was to uplift the fellowship and sportsmanship among past students of the college. According to Mr. Nuzri Mansoor – General Secretary of OBA “As the OBA we are indeed pleased to organize such a gala event to inculcate the spirit of brotherhood and team work among the Zahirians. Each year we have been improving the standard of the event and been able to build the culture of fostering friendship as well as fellowship among the groups”
