Semi finals of the Sri Lanka Cricket Major Emerging League Tournament 2018 were concluded today in Colombo. Colts Cricket Club and Sinhalese Sports Club recorded first innings victories in their respective encounters and reached the final of the tournament.

Tamil Union Cricket Club vs Colts Cricket Club

Colts Cricket Club managed to take first innings points against Tamil Union Cricket Club in the semi final match which was worked off today at CCC grounds.  Tamil Union batsmen resumed day two on 253 runs for 7 wickets and added another 31 runs for the remaining 3 wickets. Yohan Mendis who remained unbeaten at the crease yesterday, lost his wicket for 67 runs. Nalin Priyadarshana bowled extremely well picking up 5 wickets for Colts.

In reply, Colts batsmen posted 312 runs for 8 wickets when umpires called stumps on day two. Right handed batsman Vishad Randika top scored with a magnificent century for Colts.

Sinhalese Sports Club vs Galle Cricket Club

Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) managed to take first innings points against Galle Cricket Club in the semi final match which was worked off today at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium. The Galle boys resumed day two on 106 runs for 3 wickets and were bundled out for 218 runs.

Kevin Kotthigoda (62) and Harsha Vithana (55) top scored for Galle Cricket Club. Tharindu Rathnayake and Akash Senarathne starred with the ball sharing 7 wickets between them. SSC batsmen began their second innings with a 28-run lead and posted 178 for 5 at close of play on day two.
