The boys from Borella fell meekly in the hands of the POW bowlers. They only managed a painful 101 runs, thanks to the knock of salvation by Amitha Dabare who made an unbeaten 63. Except for Dabare, there weren’t any other noteworthy performances by the D.S batting unit. Kaumal Nanayakkara recorded a fifer to his name while Lakshan Perera and Suhath Mendis both picked up two wickets each.

In reply, Prince of Wales, Moratuwa were cruizing comfortably at 150 for 4 by the end of day 1. Dilshan de Mel was at the crease at 36 while Suhath Mendis and Vinuja Ranpul scored 34 and 31 respectively. Chamath Yatawara picked up 2 for 21 by stumps on day 1.
