St. Servatius’ College, Matara have secured their place in the semi-finals of the U19 Inter-Schools Division 1 Tier ‘B’ Two Day Tournament 2022/23.
St. Servatius’ College managed to qualify for the semi-finals of the U19 Inter-Schools Division 1 Tier ‘B’ two-day tournament as they claimed first innings win over Ananda College in the quarter-final encounter played today at Uyanwatta Stadium, Matara.
After posting a solid first innings total of 308 runs on the board, the lads from Matara managed to restrict Ananda batters to 181 runs thanks to a brilliant spell of bowling by Viran Chamuditha who picked up 5 wickets for 58 runs.

The traditional two-day encounter between St. Peter’s College and Isipathana College ended in a draw today, but the former managed to take major honors in the drawn game.
Oveen Salgadu of St. Peter’s College stole the limelight scoring centuries in both innings for his side. After scoring a brilliant 103 runs in the first innings yesterday, Salgadu came up with another batting masterclass today scoring 115 runs in the Peterites’ second innings.
Meanwhile, Maris Stella College managed to take the upper hand on day one against St. Sylvester’s College in the Tier ‘B’ quarter-final encounter that commenced today at FTZ Sports Complex, Katunayake.
Batting first, St. Sylvester’s College were bowled out for just 161 runs for their first innings. Ramith Bandara was the pick of the bowlers for Maris Stella College as he snared 4 wickets for 24 runs. Maris Stella College replied strongly with the bat posting 163/4 at the close of play on day one.
