Mahinda College, Galle registered an impressive 4-wicket victory over Royal College, Colombo in their Tier ‘A’ encounter of the Under-19 Division 1 Limited Overs Tournament 2025/26 played today (6th October) at Galle.
After winning the toss, Royal College elected to bat first but were restricted to 201 for 9 in 50 overs by a disciplined Mahinda bowling attack. The top order made valuable contributions, with Himaru Deshan (40), Dushen Udawela (39), and Hirun Liyanarachchi (38) steadying the innings.

Mahinda’s bowling unit was spearheaded by Vishmitha Sathsara, who delivered a superb spell of 4 for 37, while Manitha Rajapaksha chipped in effectively with 3 for 36, ensuring Royal never fully broke free during their innings.

In reply, Mahinda College made light work of the chase, reaching the target in the 39th over with four wickets to spare. The victory was built around two composed half-centuries from Thevindu Rashmika (55) and Dulsith Darshana (51), who guided their team through with maturity and confidence.
