Sri Lanka registered a comfortable win over Ireland in the first Women’s T20I of the two-match series played yesterday (11th August) at Dublin.
After been put into bat first, Ireland posted 145/6 in the allotted 20 overs with Gaby Lewis being the top scorer with a knock of 39 runs.
The off-spinner Inoshi Priyadharshani was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka as she grabbed 2 wickets for 35 runs.
Sri Lanka cruised to the target quite comfortably thanks to a blazing half-century from the opening batter Harshitha Samarawickrama. She made unbeaten 86 runs off 45 balls with 15 fours and a six at a strike rate of 191.11.
Samarawickrama and Vishmi Gunaratne set the tone for Sri Lanka’s run-chase with a match-winning partnership – 83 runs off 60 balls for the first wicket.
