The young Sri Lankan wrist-spinner Vijayakanth Viyaskanth has been roped in by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2024.
The 22-year old Viyaskanth will replace the injured Wanindu Hasaranga in the SRH squad. Hasaranga has officially been ruled out from the tournament due to heel injury.
Viyaskanth played for MI Emirates in the recently concluded International League T20 (ILT20) and impressed with the ball, scalping 8 wickets in 4 games.
He has also represented the Chattogram Challengers in the Bangladesh Premier League and the Jaffna Kings in the Lanka Premier League.
