The National Cricket Selection Committee has announced a 15-member Sri Lanka Women’s squad for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan Women.

Regular skipper Chamari Athapaththu will continue to lead the side, while opening batter Vishmi Gunaratne returns to the national squad after missing the last T20I series against Bangladesh.

The selectors have also handed maiden national call-ups to two promising 17-year-olds. Batter Sanjana Kavindi and left-arm spinner Chamudi Prabodha have earned their first opportunities at senior international level following impressive performances in Sri Lanka ‘A’ and Sri Lanka U19 setups.

Meanwhile, Hansima Karunaratne, Dewmi Vihanga, Mithali Ayodhya and experienced left-arm spinner Inoka Ranaweera have been omitted from the squad for the T20I series.

Fresh from their historic 2-1 ODI series triumph over Pakistan, Sri Lanka Women will be aiming to carry their momentum into the shortest format when the two sides meet in Dambulla.

All three T20Is will be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium. The series will begin on 31st July, with the remaining matches scheduled for 2nd and 4th August.
