15-member Sri Lanka ‘A’ squad has been announced for the ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup 2023.

The 20-year-old Dunith Wellalage has been assigned as the captain of Sri Lanka ‘A’ in the 8-team competition.

Most of the players who took part in the recently concluded South Africa ‘A’ series have been named in this squad.

Sahan Arachchige, Dushan Hemantha and Chamika Karunaratne who represented Sri Lanka in their victorious ICC World Cup Qualifier campaign have also made the cut.

Dunith Wellalage (C), Lasith Croospulle, Avishka Fernando, Minod Bhanuka (wk), Ashen Bandara, Sahan Arachchige, Janith Liyanage, Lahiru Udara (wk), Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Dushan Hemantha, Pramod Madushan, Chamika Karunaratne, Binura Fernando, Lahiru Samarakoon, Isitha Wijesundara

The tournament will be played from the 13th to the 23rd of July in Sri Lanka between Asia’s top eight cricketing nations in a 50-over format.

Sri Lanka ‘A’ are placed in Group A along with Bangladesh ‘A’, Afghanistan ‘A’ and Oman ‘A’ while India ‘A’, Nepal ‘A’, Pakistan ‘A’ and UAE ‘A’ will compete in Group B.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
