Sri Lanka deaf cricketers beat India to clinch One-Day and T20 series

Sri Lanka deaf cricketers dominated India in the recently concluded 3-match One-Day series and only T20 match at the Surrey Village Ground, Maggona which was held from 29th January to 2nd February.

Sri Lanka team led by Gimandu Malkam sealed the One-day series 2-1 after the early heartbreak they suffered on 29th January, losing a thriller in the last over and managed to cruise past India in the T20 game by 68 runs.

Rajitha Asanka starred for Sri Lanka in all the games Sri Lanka won, top scoring in all 3 innings with 57, 47 and 49 in the T20 contest while skipper Gimandu Malkam shone with the ball, taking 9 wickets in 4 matches.

This team won the inaugural deaf ICC T20 world Cup in 2018 under the same skipper and are currently preparing for the next ICC Deaf Cricket World Cup which will be held in UAE from 24th November to 4th December 2020.
