Sri Lanka U19 Clinical Win Kavija Gamage All-Round Skills

The Sri Lanka U19 team finished their tour of the West Indies on a positive note, registering a convincing victory in the seventh and final Youth ODI at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. Despite the win, the West Indies U19 side had already secured the seven-match series by a 4–3 margin.

After being asked to bat first in a rain-shortened encounter reduced to 26 overs per side, Sri Lanka managed to post a competitive total of 180 for the loss of five wickets. The innings was anchored by skipper Vimath Dinsara and number three batter Kavija Gamage, who both produced crucial half-centuries. Dinsara led from the front with an unbeaten 58 off 39 balls, an innings that featured three boundaries and three sixes, showcasing both his composure and attacking intent.

At the other end, Gamage played with equal authority, scoring 51 from 38 deliveries with six fours and a six to provide Sri Lanka with the momentum they needed. For the West Indies, Isra-el Morton was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets for 30 runs.

In response, the West Indies U19 batting lineup struggled from the outset and was dismantled for just 62 runs. The Sri Lankan bowlers displayed exceptional discipline and intensity, with Kavija Gamage once again making a major impact, this time with the ball.

He delivered a devastating spell, taking four wickets for only nine runs. He was well supported by Rasith Nimsara, Vigneshwaran Akash, and Sethmika Senevirathne, who each chipped in with two wickets apiece, leaving the hosts with no chance of recovery. The clinical bowling performance sealed a resounding 130-run win for Sri Lanka in the final match.
