Sri Lanka to tour England in June 2021

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced their schedule for the 2021 summer which includes a tour of the Sri Lankan Men’s team.

The first scheduled series in this announcement will see Eoin Morgan’s World Cup-winning team host, Sri Lanka, in a three-match Royal London Series.

The ODI series will be part of the new 2020–22 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League which will carry 30 points per series. (10 per match)

Apart from the ODI series, discussions about further series are continuing with the possibility of scheduling a Vitality T20I Series against Sri Lanka. The ECB will be able to further these plans when the detailed scheduling arrangements for the World Test Championship Final, proposed to take place in June 2021, is finalised by ICC.

After the Sri Lankan ODI series, two other Asian nations; Pakistan and India will also tour England for a multi-format series.

England Men’s Royal London Series against Sri Lanka

  • Tue 29 June – England v Sri Lanka – 1st ODI – Emirates Riverside, Durham 
  • Thu 1 July – England v Sri Lanka – 2nd ODI Kia Oval
  • Sun 4 July – England v Sri Lanka – 3rd ODI – Bristol County Ground

With this scheduled ODI series against England, the Sri Lankan Men’s team will be busy in the June-July period as India Cricket Team is due to tour the Island for 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is after the 2021 Indian Premier League. Right after the India tour, Asia Cup 2021 is also supposed to be held in Sri Lanka with the participation of 6 teams. (Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, 1 Qualifier)

The England team is also scheduled to tour Sri Lanka in January for a 2-match series which will be part of the ICC World Test Championship.
