Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee has selected an 18-member squad to play in the 2-match Test series against Pakistan.

Dimuth Karunaratne will lead a strong 18-member contingent during the series.

The selectors have named almost the same squad which played Australia in the recently concluded 2-match Test series but the two left arm spinners Lasith Embuldeniya and Praveen Jayawickrama and all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne, who were part of that squad, have been overlooked for Pakistan Tests.

It is reported that Jayawickrama is still recovering from Covid-19 virus which he infected with during the Test series against Australia.

The series will consist of 2 matches, which will be played under the ICC World Test Championship Cycle of 2021 – 2023.

The first test match will commence on the 16th of July 2022 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
