The second four-day match between Sri Lanka Emerging Team and West Indies Academy Team commenced yesterday (14th June) at Coolidge Cricket Grounds.
Having won the toss, Sri Lanka Emerging Team opted to bat first, but they lost the first 3 wickets for 88 runs. The middle-order batter Ahan Wickramasinghe steadied the innings with a valuable knock of 48 runs.
The visitors were once again stuttering at 123/5, but Sohan de Livera and Anjala Bandara revived the innings adding 58-run stand for the sixth wicket.
Bandara was the top scorer for Sri Lanka as he made unbeaten 56 runs off 104 balls with 8 fours. De Livera who was the hero with the bat for the visitors in the first game with a stunning century, continued his good form with another useful knock of 41 runs.
Sri Lanka were eventually bowled out for 241 runs in 60.1 overs with Joshua Bishop being the top wicket-taker for the hosts with 3 wickets to his name.
In reply, West Indies Academy Team made 82 runs for 1 wicket at the close of play on Day 1.
