Sri Lanka Emerging Team managed to take upper hand on Day 2 of their first four-day game against West Indies Academy Team played yesterday (9th June) at Coolidge Cricket Grounds.
West Indies Academy Team posted 214 runs for their first innings in reply to Sri Lanka Emerging Team’s total of 292 runs.
The left-arm seamer Dulaj Samuditha demolished the hosts batting lineup, claiming a five-wicket haul. The off-spinner Ashian Daniel also bagged 3 wickets for 45 runs.
The visitors began their second innings with a 78-run lead and put on 141/5 at the close of play on Day 2. Sri Lankan opening pair Ravindu Rasantha (65) and Shevon Daniel (50) chipped in with half-tons.
