The Competition Committee in a dramatic turn of events has reversed the original decision and awarded the win for Air Force SC, after it was found that Solid SC’s foreign player Afis Olayemi had played without a valid visa.

The match which was played on 8th of May was a FA Cup Pre-Quarter Final encounter at the Air Force base in Ekala. After being a goal down at half time, Solid SC bounced back with two quick goals early in the 2nd half from Edison Figurado and Thakshila Danoj to win the match 2-1.

However, after the match the Air Force officials had logged a protest at the Football Federation against the said ineligible player.

The inquiry regarding the matter was held today (10th May) evening and it was revealed that Afis Olayemi had played without a valid VISA at the time of participation in the above match, thus becoming an ineligible player.

Hence the Competition Committee unanimously decided to award the match to Air Force SC. Air Force will now play their FA Cup quarter final against Army SC on 15th May at the Race Course International Stadiu
