Solid SC celebrated their first Championship triumph in style defeating Colombo FC 2-0 in a friendly.
Colombo FC second in the league travelled to Anuradhapura – home of Solid SC, to play the friendly and the hosts proved the league defeat at the hands of Colombo FC was just a fluke, romping to a comfortable win through goals from Thakshila Danoj.
Danoj scored in the first half from a rebound and added the second in the second half. Solid had the opportunity to score more but poor finishing denied them.
The league’s most valuable player went to Solid SC captain Amith Kumara and the best goalkeeper went to Solid’s Ayurdeen. For the fourth consecutive year Mohomed Issadeen took away the golden boot award with 26 goals.
