Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has denied No Objection Certificates for Dasun Shanaka and Wanindu Hasaranga to play in the inaugural edition of the Major League T20 Tournament in the USA.
Speaking to Sunday Times, Ashley de Silva, CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket has said that the board has turned down the request of the said players following the decision taken to allow only two foreign league appearances for Sri Lankan players.

“We (SLC) have decided to allow only four leagues per year including our two leagues – Lanka Premier League and the proposed T10 League. So, we have turned down their requests,” said de Silva.
The inaugural edition of the USA-based Major League T20 tournament has been scheduled to be played from the 13th to the 30th of July in Texas. Shanaka was bought by Seattle Orcas while Hasaranga had been signed by Washington Freedom.
