Nine matches of SLC Major Clubs 3-Day Tournament 2023 ended today (24th September) at several venues across the island.
The veteran spinner Gayan Sirisoma picked up a match bag of 8 wickets to guide Kandy Customs SC to a 35-run win over Negombo CC in their three-day encounter worked off today at BOI Grounds in Katunayake.

Sirisoma demolished the Negombo CC batting lineup picking up 4 wickets each in both innings. The remaining eight games either ended in draws or no results but there were some eye-catching performances with the bat from several players.
Kasun Vidura (Chilaw Marians CC), Nimanda Subasinghe (BRC) and Lasith Abeyrathna (Tamil Union C & AC) starred with the bat in the final day of this week’s encounters, scoring brilliant centuries.

Vidura was the top scorer of the day as he stroked 116 runs off 183 balls with 14 fours. Subasinghe smashed unbeaten 100 runs off 121 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes while Abeyrathna notches up unbeaten 100 runs off 191 balls with a four and 2 sixes.
